Ground-up Flat Fender Build

So... we are working on a flatty. Well we have wagoneer axles and a Chevy drivetrain, but there will be some flatty. In all reality I'm just building a 4x4 that will look like a jeep. Not much jeep, but still a fun build. Hopefully I can retain the nostalgia of the icon while still having a modern and reliable 4x4. Enjoy!

Motor Mounts

I picked up these wheels for $15 each. They weight 21lbs a piece and are worth $14 each in scrap. They are 15x9s and I really wanted 15x8s, but for the price they should do fine for now.

Initial Mock Up

What are we looking at?

99" wheelbase. 36" tires (borrowed and am planning on 35s). 19" belly clearance after a mild tcase clock (still to come).

Aside from tires, this is the proposed motor height and axle placement. Things may have to change some as the build progresses. Hoping to get decent up travel out of the front axle, but it will be limited some by the driveline and bellhousing.

I am able to use the S10 fuel tank which is very helpful, but it is going to bother my departure angle a little. Still worth it I think considering fuel pump, wiring, and capacity.

New Jeep Project

The beginning of my latest jeep. Some miscellaneous sheet metal, axles, and motor. Plenty more to come.
